Metalcorp Prize Becomes The Ultimate Anniversary Gift
Metalcorp customers Selene and Scott Jackson returned from their weekend in Adelaide in early March buzzing with excitement.
The couple were the winners of Metalcorp’s Ultimate Adelaide Supercars Experience Prize.
The prize included flights and accommodation for two in Adelaide, a hot lap at the track with Supercars Championship winner Mark Winterbottom, tickets to the Adelaide 500 and entry to Orrcon Steel’s corporate suite on the main race day (Sunday).
Selene and Scott run a family owned and operated business called Eastco Homes and Constructions. Scott is an avid fan of motorsport, but it was his wife Selene that won her husband the ultimate prize.
Selene recounts the moment the phone rang to reveal they had won. “The day we got the phone call, it was actually our wedding anniversary. Scott didn’t even know I had entered, so he didn’t believe it at first. I said that now I don’t need to worry about an anniversary gift”.
They have been Metalcorp customers for the last 18 months and offer turn-key installation and demobilisation services for portable administration facilities all over Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
The Eastco Homes and Constructions business keeps the couple very busy. Their team install site admin facilities, walkway awnings and concreted pathways for industrial sites, mine sites and hire companies.
Lester Kirkwood National Sales and Marketing Manager for Metalcorp was on hand to help prepare Scott for his ride and settle his nerves. “He is a very cool individual, so he was fine, but his wife Selene was very nervous. That’s understandable given the number of mirrors that are dislodged over the course of the race with the closeness of the concrete walls,” Lester said.
For Scott, the adrenalin rush of reaching speeds of 250 kilometres during a hot lap was an experience he will never forget.
“It was absolutely unreal! One of the best things I have ever done, I wanted to keep going for a few more laps,” Scott said.
